Participate in the POWERPOOR project as an Energy Supporter!
2021-05-20We are looking for a future energy supporter and energy community mentors to be part of the POWERPOOR project's work on the ground with citizens and policy makers to reduce levels of energy poverty across Europe.
Energy Supporters will engage citizens in energy poverty and provide advice on behavioral changes. Supporters will directly assist citizens with planning, securing funding and implementing energy efficiency interventions. They will be able to operate directly from the Local Energy Poverty Offices.
If you are willing to help people in situations of energy poverty and a voluntary attitude this can be a good initiative for you!
What is energy poverty?
Citizens in energy poverty can be considered / defined as people who are unable to keep their homes adequately heated during the winter and / or comfortable enough during the summer, can live in poor quality homes (for example, rotten window frames, walls / foundations, leaking ceilings) and may be late in paying their energy bills.
What are the benefits of being an Energy Supporter?
- Supporting people to improve their living standards.
- Participate in a well-structured learning process that combines theory, practice and formal tests.
- Be trained in the alleviation and reduction of energy poverty, design of energy efficiency interventions and in the organization / promotion of communities / energy cooperatives.

What are the obligations of an Energy Supporter?
- Participate in training and certification activities to be part of the POWERPOOR network.
- Min. 15 support / visits to families in energy poverty per year.
- Inform the project partners about the visits and provide information on the construction status of the houses visited, the discussions held and the proposed measures for implementation.

About POWERPOOR:
POWERPOOR is a 3-year H2020 project, started in September 2020, aimed at reducing energy poverty, leading the way in supporting citizens, by implementing energy efficiency interventions, promoting participation in joint energy initiatives, through development of support programs and driven by ICT Tools. The project aims to facilitate a change in the behavior of citizens in relation to the use of energy and the adoption of energy efficiency measures through the exchange of experiences and knowledge. POWERPOOR will promote community energy projects or alternative financing models and also help citizens to look for other participation / financing opportunities (for example, energy communities, energy cooperatives and crowdfunding).
