Adega Cooperativa de Palmela was founded in 1955 with 50 winegrowers. Today it has approximately 300 winegrowers representing 1000 hectares of vineyards. AdP produces an average of 8 million liters of wine every year. Red wine (70% of production) has Castelão as its main grape variety. White wines (25%) have Fernão Pires and Moscatel as main grape varieties. Moscatel de Setúbal is still produced in this winery, where the main grape variety is Moscatel da Alexandria.

For Coopérnico, this is our biggest project so far. We will produce, with the investment of our members, around 400 000 kWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of more than 150 families!
